Operational Excellence and Marketing

Our system uses automatic bidding, where Glovo automatically sets the most competitive bid for you to ensure a positive return. Your bid will adjust over time to ensure it remains competitive without overspending. Your budget is the total amount you’re willing to pay for clicks each day. Setting a budget caps your spending, so you’re in full control of your ad costs.

Each time a customer uses the app or searches, we determine which ad to show them by ranking all eligible ads based on a combination of bid and quality scores. The winning ad will be the one with the highest combined bid and quality score.

We provide a recommendation that gives the algorithm enough leeway to find the right customers for your store. The higher the limit the better we can find and target the right customer.

Note: We may automatically adjust your daily limit to match user demand, but we will not exceed 2x your average daily limit on any given day. This is in order to give you the best possible return on ad spend (ROAS).

We recommend setting at least 10% of your monthly earnings through Glovo as our platform helps you maximize your returns so that you always generate more revenue than what you invest! And if your spending is more than your earnings, we will freeze the bill until you earn enough to cover your costs and start seeing a positive return.

Featured promotions have a higher visibility in the app: the promotion will appear on the promotions section and the yellow promotional tag will appear on your store card.

To create one, when choosing the products included in your promotion make sure you consider the following:

  • Choose at least 3 products for the promotion, including one top selling
    product.
  • If you do not have top selling products, choose at least 5 products.
Boost the results of your product promotion to the fullest by following these
    guidelines!

Yes, while setting up your campaign you can indicate the maximum budget amount you’d like to spend on that promotion. We will stop the promotion automatically as soon as it surpasses 90% of the budget.

Our recommendation is that you allocate a maximum budget of 10% of your monthly sales, given it will work like a marketing investment.

You can set up as many promotions as you want, even during the same period of time. The only exception is applying two % promos to the same product.

  1.  Access the Manager Portal and go to the tab named “Promotions”.
  2. Select the Promotion type you are interested in creating and click on the button “Create promotion”.
You’ll be asked to provide the following information:
  • Stores which you’d like to run the campaign for
  • Dates the promotion will apply for (the duration of the Promotion). We set up a minimum one week by default.
  • Hours you want your promotion to be displayed on the Glovo app (daily active times). If not filled, the promotion will run in line with your opening times
  • % discount to be offered/delivery fee (depending on the promotion selected)
  • Set a budget limit (optional)

You can find a detailed step-by-step explanation in the following document.

Currently, directly in the Manager Portal you’re able to set up the following campaigns:

  • Free delivery: the user receives the meal/product with no delivery costs
  • Flat delivery: the user pays a flat delivery fee (lower than the regular fee)
  • 2×1: the user buys one and gets another item (same item) for free. Percentage of discount on products: the user pays a reduced price for the ordered
products – e.g. 20% off a specific product or the whole menu.
  • Minimum Basket Size: setting a minimum value per order for a promotion to be applicable.
  • Promotions to New Customers only: visible only to customers that never bought from your store

Choose the one that best suits your business needs!

Promotions are one of the main tools partners can use to grow their business at Glovo and reach new customers. On average, partners have doubled their orders and tripled their store visits by running promotions.

Please note though that promotions may have different outcomes depending on:

  • The type of promotion: partners can run product or delivery promos based
    on their strategy and needs.
  • How attractive the products on promotion are.
  • The promo length and timing.
